70,000 watch playoff game as German “retired team” of biggest Twitch streamers turns it up

The German scene in League of is booming in 2022, and now a second-division match has reached about 70,000 concurrent viewers on Twitch. That’s because the biggest German Twitch streamer on , NoWay4U, faced Eintracht Frankfurt with his LoL team “NNO” in a playoff match.

How come you’re a retiree so early in LoL? The fan account of “No Need Orga” (NNO) calls the team itself a “Renter Team”. Because NNO consists of some of the biggest German Twitch streamers on LoL, some of whom have already passed 30.

In LoL, people joke that anyone over 25 is actually already of “retirement age,” because hardly any pros in League of Legends play much longer than until 25. That’s the age at which many retire:

  • the reflexes weaken
  • the load of the same training becomes heavier with the years and it is difficult to motivate oneself
  • the hungry youth pushes after, which is often mechanically excellent
  • besides, the compulsory military service is waiting for South Korean professionals and they can’t avoid it endlessly – unless your name is Faker

  • Niklot “Tolkin” Stüber in the Toplane (24) – he is the third largest German streamer on League of LEgends.

Playoff game against Eintracht Frankfurt becomes an event

What kind of match was that? On August 18, Team NNO faced Eintracht Frankfurt in the playoffs.

The series went over 5 matches and was a highlight of the LoL year for many.

NoWay4u was also apparently completely blown away at the end after a 3-2 win. All he wrote on Twitter was, “I love this team so much.”

NoWay4u: How did he become the biggest German LoL streamer on Twitch?

So many were watching: Just under 45,000 people watched via the official Prime League channel. But many also watched the match on Jona “JustJohnny” Schmitt’s channel. Maxim, a legendary caster in LoL, was his guest.

Both channels together reached a peak of over 70,000 simultaneous viewers on Twitch (via reddit).

JustJohnny and Maxim had so much fun in their stream that they even made it to reddit with “champion imitations,” where the English-speaking community was baffled to learn that Germans do have a sense of humor after all.

This could be quite a spectacle.

A driving force in the Prime League boom: he started his own team.

are also a problem in German LoL

Is there also a Wehrmuts drop? Caster Johnny addressed the fans in an appeal almost two weeks ago: German viewers should be less toxic, especially in Twitch chat, and not immediately type every hateful thought out into the world.

That seems to be a problem that LoL won’t let go of, no matter who is playing.
