League of Legends Champion – Marksman Varus.
One of the ancient darkin, Varus was a deadly killer who loved to torment his foes, driving them almost to insanity before delivering the killing arrow. He was imprisoned at the end of the Great Darkin War, but escaped centuries later in the remade flesh of two Ionian hunters—they had unwittingly released him, cursed to bear the bow containing his bound essence. Varus now seeks out those who trapped him, in order to enact his brutal vengeance, but the mortal souls within still resist him every step of the way.

I don't really see much to address player choice in progression.
All of the champion progression is still linear with no options. The champion powers (now called star powers) are still going to heavily dictate what is (and is not) viable with the champions making runs more one-dimensional. The reputation, now called champion level, is still an excuse to make players grind through linear upgrades that they should have started with.
Path of champions has focused a lot of giving players a more guaranteed power fantasy with each champion, which is great; but it's come at the cost of variation and options. I was already frustrated the first time path of champions greatly limited the roster size, now they're doing it again. And honestly, path of champions just doesn't deliver the variety that lab of Legends offered.
Every run in path of champions feels kinda samey. That's really the thing that needs to be addressed imo. It might have more progression than labs, but progression without customization is just grind. I also hope the "world adventures" are a bit more dynamic and have some randomness to them, rather than being the same board every single time. I couldn't really tell if that was the case in this video.
I do at least appreciate the fact that the champion level improves the deck as a whole. Path of champions tied way too much power to the champions themselves and made the decks feel like a hindrance. Way too often in PoC I feel like I lost just because I never drew my champion, which is basically the sole benefactor of any progression
Good that they're dedicating effort to this. Just got into LoR two weeks ago and have been really enjoying it. Bit of a bummer though that they slimmed down the champion roster, I was really looking forward to playing Caitlyn in PvE…
Yeah… This actually aged badly.
A random loot box style fragment system for the Champion Power and unlock… So a lot less interesting now. It is incredibly obtuse, for absolutely no reason. Along with a complete reset on progression.
This is an absolutely terrible update overall.
Well, there goes Ahri¨s campaign. And now I have to do Jinx's story again? This update might improve things in the long run, but it makes it pretty awful for people who just picked up the game and had started progressing through the existing story. Guess I started playing this game at a bad time. xD
So, I'm a tad late to the party, however I just wanna say it looks great so far except… I'd really like the world adventures to have a lot more champions available so I can play pve with my favorite champions, like I loved playing Shyvanna and I'd really like to go through and play her in the rogue like pve again. I don't need the narrative and honestly, while I think it's a cool addition and as a lore fiend I'm excited (if not extremely nervous, looking at you Ruination Rengar) on how more champions will get represented and their own focused mini story center stage. PLEASE open up more pve options, and spend time really honing that narrative aspect, there's some really cool options to explore there 🙂 .I think this has amazing potential with lots of room for expansion, but please stop dropping other characters and their pve adventures into the void…
I recently picked up the game and was loving PoC, only to find my progress reset today. Why would you do that? Not interested in starting all over again. I was extremely fond of the game how it was.
Do we receive any rewards by playing "The Path of Champions" mode? I am both curious and new to this game.

Had just finished my Zed run (Who was my favorite in this mode this far), and had just started on Teemo. Now i cant play any of them… Also i have to level everyone up again?! WTF!

I've installed this game 2 weeks ago, and I've been loving it. I was never a guy of card games like this, but I'm really enjoying it. I'm just sad because they removed Gnar from story mode, and he was my favorite
I'm very disappointed that Pyke is removed. He was by far the most fun one to play. I don't really like the playstyle of many of the current ones. Jinx is probably my least favorite, and you are forced to start with her.

I played the updated path of champions for a few days now and I am both shocked and in disbelief that this is what they have been hyping up to. A literal downgrade to the mode.
"But they added new champions!"
Yes and removed just as many.
"But more augments!"
Yes but you'll have to grind for them to a point where you don't really need them anymore once you have got them.
"More story!"
Literally just 1 or 2 paths per champs that sprinkle a bit of extra dialogue. The Arcane event had more story than this mess.
Not to mention they added another resource you'll have to grind to play the champ you wanted. Before it was "you own the champ, you get to play him."
Now you'll have to play dozens of games with cards you may not even enjoy playing. What? You want to play with Bard and not Annie? Tough luck! Go and play Annie until you collected enough Bard magic dust to unlock him.
I don't know where exactly this whole update went wrong, but I am at a loss for words at the idea that this got presented to the QA team after development and somehow passed.
The one and only good thing here is that you can get actual card rewards for playing PvE now. But thats where the positives end.
I love LoR, but this "update" is simly a downgrade no matter from which way you look at it. I know this comment will anger some stans who take every update as a blessing from god but I honestly can't be arsed to argue about how my opinion hurt their feelings.
Now let's do more pvp content
I think what needs to happen to improve the replayability of this mode is to make it more dynamic by randomly generating maps, paths, foes, and enemies from different regions. Sometimes it will be insanely easy, other times you'll have crazy hard levels but at least it will feel new. I don't see how this mode can replace expedition. I think POC is great for a new player. I know the pve made this game super easy for me to learn at my own pace, but it's no expedition in terms of dynamics.

After just over a week they're like "You know what, we're not gonna focus on PoC as much". What in the world was the point of a brand new 2.0 release of this game mode if you're immediately gonna shift focus from it?!
Just came here after they tweeted they were effectively axing the game mode. Way to lie riot. Fucking classic. Didn't even last a month
Yeah ,yeah all great but you forgot to mention the nature of the reward for playing the old poc mode and didn't specify that the way to get it was throu a single run instead of just multiple boss fights. You just daid "scaled to the number of boss fights you were able to complete"

For me, i like that progression is ki da slow. I always grind hard and when i finish the game, I'm upset because there are no new content. This is actually good imo.
I'm at the chapter 4 quests and it's stuck at 4/5 completed for the complete all quest…
1. I start adventure on Bilgewater, but why foe's deck has noxus theme.
2. Start adventure on demacia, but foe's deck is bandlewoods theme.

Tbh it sucks that i cant just play path of champions with 1 champion, power it up and move on with my life, now there is so much rng bs to even get a 2 star it is frustrating
“Great” path update. Maybe you can already make that the three star champions dont get shards? I have already received 10-30 fragments of three star jinx several times. And this fragments just disappear. At the same time, I have 3 locked champions. Thank you Riot.
They deleted my max level jinx that's just disrespectful to people who play the game
Played alot of the old path of champions and played alot of this current version been enjoying alot of my time with it much more than the old one. My biggest gripes are that progession on the weaker decks feels glacial until your able to get the champion level ups, both star power and general progression. Also while maybe down the road 4+ star upgrades will be released getting 20 champ fragments on a 3 star champion while some champs arent even unlocked yet just feels bad.
is still grind dude … you need to lv up and do more times same adventure to get some levels after get some unlocks..pfff

I jist came back after a few months of not playing. Was Ahri removed from this mode? I don't have any other Champs I'm interested in playing so I've lost all motivation to play 🙁

This is my favorite game ever. I always try playing a new game but I'm drawn back to Path of Champions because it's so beautifully animated and I love being able to take my time and play without the stress of ranked play or deckbuilding.
Please keep putting resources into this mode, I'll spend hella money on it and I can't WAIT for the MMO.
