The new Rainbow Six Extraction Crisis event puts its gameplay focus on sneaking and introduces a new operator and much more.Ubisoft announced, as we previously reported, that Rainbow Six Extraction’s third Crisis event is available now through September 1. Eclipse partially forces Operators into absolute darkness while they have to fight a new threat in three subzones.
The trailer for the Eclipse crisis event can be seen here. Now Ubisoft has revealed more details about the event’s content. As Operators delve deeper into the Truth or Consequences map, they will encounter the source of darkness: the Neoplasm. This threat emits pulses that can detect movement within a radius. In each subzone, players must use a silent takedown to weaken the Neoplasm. When movement is detected, the neoplasm flees to the next subzone and it becomes increasingly difficult for players to counter it again.
To progress from subzone to subzone, players must restore power to a generator while facing the onslaught of Archaea. The crisis reaches its climax in the third subzone, where players must finally destroy the neoplasm and get safely to the evacuation point. In addition to the Eclipse Crisis event, today the Rainbow Six Operator Echo joins the REACT Team. Echo is known for his intelligence gathering efficiency and will be a valuable addition to the Rainbow Six Extraction team lineup in both Eclipse and the main game. Echo’s Yokai drone transmits a video image to him and can fire ultrasonic pulses that disorient any targets it hits.
A new REACT gadget, the Aura Grenade, can also be unlocked by players. The Aura Grenade can be unlocked by completing the “Perform 50 Stealth Eliminations Against Various Archaea Types” task and can be completed in any game mode. This new REACT gadget can attract Archaea as well as be detonated remotely to destroy or stun enemies. It can also self-destruct after a certain amount of time.
As players dive deeper into the Eclipse event, more exciting content can be discovered:
- The new REACT gadget: the Aura Grenade
- The new Operator Echo
- New deco objects
- The new neoplasm opponent
- Thematic talismans that players can keep
- Additional XP for milestone progress
The Eclipse event is the latest content in Rainbow Six Extraction and players can look forward to more in the future. Players can now get started with a squad through Game Pass on Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One and Windows PC, as well as PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Stadia, Amazon Luna, Ubisoft+, the Ubisoft Store and the Epic Games Store.
